This is our new customized UV light! It puts out longwave 365nm light, has a poseable gooseneck and a tightly-focused beam. It's great for illuminating gems and curing UV superglue for faceting.
We'd been using UV gooseneck lamps for a while, both for illuminating stones and curing UV superglue during faceting, but the ones we could get all had two problems. First, they always put out unfiltered 395nm which is basically just violet, so many of our stones didn't show their true fluorescence under them. Second, the light was too diffuse so it couldn't be aimed at a stone at any distance or used to quickly target an area to cure during dopping. Since there just wasn't a 365nm gooseneck available we figured we needed to develop one of our own.
So here's what we came up with: a gooseneck lamp that emits filtered 365nm UV light, focused in a narrow beam from the front. It has a clamp so you can attach it to a tabletop or post and position as needed (it does not have a base).
The lamp is powered by a USBA plug, but also comes with a USBA wall wart so you can just plug it in and go (US mains voltage, if your local power is different you'll need to find your own USBA adapter).
