Long Hexagon Cut Lab Fluorite Gems, Color Change Hyperfluorescent

These are hyperfluorescent lab fluorites cut in long hexagon cuts!  These are sold by carat weight--exact size and proportions vary.

Natural fluorite is famed for its colors and, of course, fluorescence which is named after it.  These lab-grown crystals take the fluorescence up to eleven with a dose of europium, which makes them so fluorescent that, like LuAG, they can be used for detecting invisible radiation.  These stones are colorless but their glow is so powerful they turn blue in direct sunlight!  Fluorite is soft and needs to be treated with extreme care during setting.  Some of these stones have cleavage planes or inclusions.
